The short version: your screenshots never leave your computer.

Shotlighter has no accounts and uses no cookies. We don't sell or share data with anyone.

Your images

Everything you paste, drop or open in Shotlighter is processed by code running in your own browser. Images are not uploaded to any server and are not stored by us. They're gone when you reload or close the tab. Copying puts the edited image on your own clipboard, and saving downloads a file to your computer.

Visitor statistics

We use Vercel Web Analytics to see how many people use the site. It does not use cookies. It records anonymous page views: which page was opened, the site that linked to it, and general information such as country, browser and operating system.

Visitors are counted with a hash of the incoming request that resets every day, so a visit can't be linked to you, to your visits on other days, or to other websites. We only see totals.

Hosting

Shotlighter is hosted by Vercel. Like any web host, Vercel processes technical request data such as IP addresses to deliver the site and keep it secure. See Vercel's privacy policy for how they handle it.

Offline use

After your first visit, your browser keeps a copy of the app's own files, never your images, so Shotlighter loads quickly and works offline. You can remove it at any time by clearing this site's data in your browser settings.

Changes

If we ever add advertising or anything else that collects data, we'll update this page before it goes live.
